Houston Astros Manager Bo Porter joined Jay Mohr Sports on Friday after taking two of three from the Yankees in their opening series...but, we wanted to know how excited he is for all the great young talent that is soon to be on the way.
Mohr: “How hard is it for you as the manager to not just pick up the phone to GM Jeff Luhnow and say get them (top prospects) up here?"
Porter: “As a manager on a major league baseball team, our motto is we look at each other and make a commitment to each other. This all we have and this is all we need. I don’t get into talking about the players that are not (here) because I actually think it’s an insult to the guys that are here. I think that we have a great farm system and as those players start to arrive at the major league level that have potential to be impact players, obviously we’re going to be excited to have them… But I’m enthusiastic about the 25 players that we have right now and the job they’re doing each and everyday to prepare to win baseball games."
