West Branch Man Pleads Guilty to Lesser Charges

A WEST BRANCH MAN WHO WAS CONVICTED IN THE 2007 DEATH OF HIS 3-MONTH OLD DAUGHTER AND THEN WON HIS APPEAL FOR A NEW TRIAL HAS NOW PLEADED GUILTY TO LESSER CHARGES. PROSECUTERS ALLOWING 34-YEAR-OLD CURTIS MILLER TO MAKE AN ALFORD PLEA TO INVOLUNTARY MANSLAUGHTER AND CHILD ENDANGERMENT RESULTING IN SERIOUS INJURY BECAUSE THEY SAY THEY SPENT $40,000 ON THE FIRST TRIAL AND WANT TO USE THE MONEY THEY WOULD PUT TOWARDS ANOTHER ONE FOR OTHER PROSECUTIONS. HE WAS SENTENCED TO A TOTAL OF 15 YEARS IN PRISON, BUT WITH OVER 6 YEARS ALREADY SERVED, HIS ATTORNEY SAYS MILLER COULD BE ELIGIBLE FOR PAROL SOON.
