Two teenagers caught trying to escape from a detention center

TWO TEENAGERS ARE IN A LOT OF TROUBLE AFTER TRYING TO ESCAPE LAST NIGHT FROM A DETENTION CENTER IN NORTHEAST IOWA.

A RUCKUS BROKE OUT AT THE NORTHEAST IOWA JUNVENILE DETNTION CENTER NORTH OF WATERLOO JUST BEFORE 930 MONDAY NIGHT WHEN TWO TEENAGERS TRIED TO ESCAPE. BLACKHAWK COUNTY SHERIFF'S CAPTAIN RICHARD ABBEN SAYS 14 YEAR OLD RAYMOND BIRDEN AND 16 YEAR OLD DANESHA MARTIN OF WATERLOO BBEGAN ASSAULTING STAFF MEMBERS. THEY'RE ACCUSED OF HITTING STAFF WITH CHAIRS AND FISTS AND BITING THEM. THEY WERE ABLE TO GET A SET OF KEYS BUT OTHER STAFF AND RESIDENTS PREVENTED THEIR ESCAPE.

BIRDEN AND MARTIN ARE FACING CHARGES OF ASSAULTING A CORRECTIONS OFFICER AND ATTEMPTED ESCAPE.. THEY'RE IN THE BLACK HAWK COUNTY JAIL.
