A CEDAR RAPIDS HOUSE WAS DAMAGED BY FIRE, AND HOUR AFTER POLICE WERE AT THE HOME RESPONDING TO A DOMESTIC INCIDENT. FIREFIGHTERS CAME TO THE HOUSE AT 2472 FRUITLAND BOULEVARD JUST BEFORE 1A.M. AS SMOKE WAS SEEN COMING FROM TWO FRONT BEDROM WINDOWS. THERE WAS SIGNIFICANT FIRE, HEAT AND SMOKE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT BEDROOM AND HEAVY SMOKE DAMAGE THROUGHOUT. THE HOME'S OWNER, 51 YEAR OLD KEN NGOMBWA HAD GONE TO THE LINN COUNTY JAIL TO TURN HIMSELF IN FOR A THAT DOMESTIC INCIDENT.  OFFICERS HADN'T FILED ANY CHARGES THOUGH, SO JAILERS HAD NO REASON TO DETAIN HIM BUT HE REFUSED TO LEAVE AND THEY ARRESTED HIM FOR INTERFERENCE. THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE HAS BEEN RULED ARSON, BUT NO SUSPECTS HAVE BEEN DETAINED.
